One of LEC’s differentiators, as a communications agency, is the delivery of high quality branded internal communications materials. This makes LEC x AS Design projects about more than marketing and external comms and puts employees and stakeholders at the centre of several campaigns.
The magazine – as proud of it as we were – was relatively short lived.
However, Alan and Leanne continued to work together and Leanne approached Alan with a project that would allow them to continue collaborating to this day.
Issue 1 was produced in December 2012 and was packed with stories about the staff, management and project/production highlights.
NSK Local became an integral part of employee life at the Peterlee plant and was a major initiative that the plant manager, HR department and management teams were behind from the start.
The newsletter went down so well globally that it was often a talking point during visits from NSK’s Japanese leaders when they came to Peterlee.
We went on to produce numerous issues of the newsletter and several recruitment brochures.
In addition to the newsletter (which is still being produced by LEC/AS and is in its 18th issue at the time of writing), we’ve worked on a number of other internal comms projects.
Most significantly, we produce and print-manage the Peterlee plant’s employee welcome and induction packs.
The packs include forms, handbooks and information sheets – all professionally branded and presented in a folder, giving the best first impression possible to new recruits.
We started working on these as TRW was becoming ZF TRW… and we currently maintain them as just ZF.
As the organisation has gone through two major rebranding exercises and name changes, we’ve continued to work with the Peterlee team to ensure all current brand governance is followed.
Northern Rights is a social enterprise based in the North East of England. The organisation works with disadvantaged people, from a diverse range of backgrounds, who have struggled to find sustainable employment.
As the client delivers several funded initiatives, paperwork is often a direct requirement.
We produced a range of forms that the Northern Rights team complete with their clients in order to provide the most appropriate level of support, depending on the client’s requirements, and to Northern Rights to keep an paper trail of that support for compliance purposes.
Each form is designed with both parent branding and project identifier in mind.
Forms all carry appropriate funding and support logos and version control references – again for compliance and auditing purposes.
We have also produced a version of the documents that can filled in and stored digitally. This allows the team to complete paperwork with clients they are not able to meet with face-to-face.
This has lead to several internal comms projects – including a newsletter, recruitment brochure and employee rewards materials.
As another local plant which is part of a global family, the TMD team at Hartlepool need to follow brand guidelines set in Germany.
We worked with the local team – and the team in Germany – to produce a newsletter that sets the Hartlepool plant apart from its counterparts as one that focuses on its people at local level, celebrating successes that could otherwise go unnoticed in such a large organisation.
Recruitment is an area that sits somewhere between internal comms and marketing – and we produced a brochure aimed at selling TMD as an employer of choice at recruitment events in the North East.
