I am a business partner of Alan’s, we launched MyMerch Studio in 2021.
In addition, ASDNE is what I’d call my agency Pink Buddha’s de facto design department.

So why does Alan call me the influencer?
It’s mainly a reference to Pink Buddha working in the influencer marketing space for major brands, but also because he says I am an influence on him. A good one I hope.
We started working together on an event Buddha was responsible for called EMCON. Actually it was called Durham Oktoberfest and Alan and I rebranded it in 2018.
The last minute 4am finishes to get all of the print materials sent off made us realise that we share a work ethic that wasn’t an ’employed one’ and shortly before the 2019 event Alan went self employed.
That year was the last time Alan worked on the event but we remained friends. Then in 2020, as the events industry was on its knees, I was looking for something new to work on and knew I wanted to work on it with Alan. So we launched MyMerch, bought a t-shirt printer and gave it a go from the unit in Blaydon where Alan was based.
We moved MyMerch, and Alan’s businesses North East Gifts, CCS Products and ASDNE to Prudhoe in 2021 and have spent the past five years working together on those. And Buddha. Oh and Hiatco, LTN Productions, and Sunequip… my other businesses.
It’s varied to say the least, but we still share that same work ethic – just do it, or at least give it a go!
